Civils vs Fibre - What's the difference?
Trainee Civil Operative You will play a key role in helping CityFibre to achieve our mission of delivering full fibre to up to 8 million premises across the UK. Working in a team, you could be responsible for excavating and/or reinstating in the highways to install new duct work and chambers which houses our fibre, whichever you prefer we’ve got the right role for you.
Trainee Fibre Engineer - Underground and/or Overhead Cabling You will play a key role in helping CityFibre to achieve our mission of delivering full fibre to up to 8 million premises across the UK. You will be responsible for delivering fibre installation on existing and new build networks to specific customer specifications, this will include external and internal work. Whether you prefer working at height or underground, we’ve got the role for you.
This training course is initially for 1 week and typically covers the NRSWA Operative Streetworks modules 1-6+9. This training will be delivered to assist you with your entry into the telecoms/fibre industry. Follow up training will be delivered upon a work placement or job offer with a CityFibre Build Partner.
This training course is for 6 days and typically covers S7, S8, SA001, SA002, EUSR Telecoms and NRSWA Operative Streetworks Unit 2. This training will be delivered to assist you with your entry into the telecoms/fibre industry. Follow up training will be delivered upon a work placement or job offer with a CityFibre Build Partner.
Please note, these courses are an unpaid, free of charge offering from CityFibre and you must be able to commit to attending the full initial training block and be open to job opportunities with Build Partners working on the CityFibre network. It is likely in many cases that interviews with CityFibre’s Build Partners will take place in advance, with job offers or starts prior to training. We require all candidates who attend training to have a valid driving licence and access to a vehicle throughout the duration of the course.
