GCU are looking for an experience finance manager to join their team in Glasgow. As Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include overseeing end-to-end finance operations, financial planning and analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, looking to make improvements to procedures and controls, as well as ad-hoc projects and requests as and when they come up.

Key responsibilities:

• Reconciling PAYE / Payroll control accounts with an analytical review to ensure costing is in line with expectation and any variances to budget highlighted
• Ensure the Payroll department comply with minimum wage, PAYE and HMRC legislation
• Completion of VAT returns and, PAYE returns, PS, etc. to HMRC within set time limits
• Liaising with other departments over preparation of periodic and year end accounts/reports
• You will be responsible for meeting weekly/monthly/quarterly deadlines

Ideal candidates will have/hold:

• Part or Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) or have a minimum 3 year's experience in a similar role
• Sage 50, Sage Accounting, and Office 365 software experience
• Attention to detail
• Proactive and confidently able to problem solve and make decisions
• Experience in dealing with Payroll
